Stick to a list & AVOID shopping hungry. This is one of my non-negotiables. I planned my meals ahead and write a precise shopping list to avoid impulse buying. Shopping on a empty stomach can lead to cravings and unhealthy choices, so I ate a protein-rich snack (like Greek yogurt or buts) before heading to the store.
I shopped on the Perimeter FIRST! Most grocery store place fresh produce, lean proteins (like meat, fish, and eggs), and dairy along the outer aisles. The inner aisles contain snacks and sugary items.
Choosing Single-Ingredient Foods. For example: Pick a plain sweet potato instead of pre-seasoned sweet potato fries, or plain Greek yogurt instead of flavored yogurt with added sugar.
This simplifies healthy eating and helps you avoid hidden diet saboteurs.
